TRADE - ENHANCED SAFARI SERVICE FOR SAFMARINE

Enhanced SAFARI service for Safmarine

Safmarine is pleased to announce an enhancement to their SAFARI service between Asia and Southern Africa with a revised schedule and port rotation. Additional capacity will be deployed in order to cater for customer requirements and focus on schedule reliability. The service upgrade will offer a direct weekly service using fully cellular container vessels.
The service will be operated jointly by Safmarine and Maersk Sealand commencing from the end of March 2005

The new rotation will be as follows :
Shanghai-Yantian-Hong Kong-Tanjung Pelepas-Port Louis- Port Elizabeth-Durban-Port Louis-Tanjung Pelepas-Kaohsiung-Shanghai
The first westbound vessel will be the S.A. Sederberg voyage 0502, departing Shanghai on 30th March, 2005. S.A. Sederberg will also be the first eastbound vessel on the new rotation, departing Port Elizabeth on 22nd April, 2005.
The existing Safari service will remain in place until the introduction of the new enhanced service effective second quarter, 2005.
