CommCare flag unfurled by Safmarine

Endorsed brand gets customer backing from Douala and Abidjan to Frankfurt and Amsterdam
Effective November 2001, A.P. Moller Group carrier Safmarine now offers its coffee and cocoa customers CommCare, an endorsed brand that will set the pace in developing niche, customer-oriented services by specialists for individual sectors in the shipping community.
Advice is offered by experienced, long-serving Safmarine experts on all aspects of coffee and cocoa shipments, from container packing, to liner packing for shipments, moisture control and transportation logistics.
"Through this new form of communication our customers will see a consistent picture - that in our business the customers do come first and that Safmariners will do everything to meet their specialised commodity needs" stated Howard Boyd, Safmarine's CEO, at the recent launch of CommCare in Antwerp.
Earlier this month, CommCare was successfully introduced in Douala, where West African customers received first hand information on the services offered by the Safmarine regional, country and trade departments.
Important customer testimonials from West Africa and Northern Europe support this new initiative, and the Safmarine e-business team has been busy setting up a dedicated space for coffee and cocoa customers on the safmarine.com website.
"In addition to providing on-line booking, tracking, bills of lading and voyage enquiries, our web site will now offer our commodities customers individual country contacts, advice on the stuffing of containers and a host of other features" said e-Business executive Jan Van Dooren.
CommCare services will be extended to tea, tobacco, cotton and rubber in the New Year.
