CLIPPINGS - UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN CAPE KNEE DEEP IN PCS
CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA - 1050 computers were recently delivered to the University of the Western Cape (UWC) as part of a community project started by Close the Gap' based in Belgium.

The main aim of the programme is to make computers available to educational institutions in developing countries by having large corporations donate their outdated PCs to the programme. Close the Gap then rebuilds the PCs and charges only for the labour costs.

Safmarine kindly agreed to carry the cost of shipment of these PCs (including the containers and door to door delivery fee) to the UWC campus. Safmarine Logistics was roped in and performed a flawless logistics operation, ensuring the safe collection and delivery of the containers from the shippers premises in Rotterdam right to UWC's door.
