International Day of the Seafarer: Saturday, 25 June 2011
Seafarers are the lubricant without which the engine of global trade would simply grind to halt. To highlight their unique contribution, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has declared 25 June, International Day of the Seafarer. Safmarine supports this day and calls on everyone to use this day as an opportunity to say a big 'thank you' to our seafarers.
Safmariners encouraged to participate in the celebration of Seafarers have worn nautical-themed clothing to work on "dress down" Friday and will join the various events in South Africa on Saturday. For more info on the celebration of this day visit http://www.imo.org/Pages/home.aspx
Safmarine thanks our valued crew onboard our vessels and their fellow seafarers around the globe.
